Day 9
I could hardly sleep. I'm potentially one step closer to the Dragon Rook. I have to gather my things make sure my mount is ready for travel today and head out.
Another day of running for my life. I honestly didn't think this would be what my journey would be when I first started out. Honestly, I do not think I am ready for this, but I in all the running, I've lost my way and I don't think I can make it back the way I came. If I ever find a way back down, I am taking it. This place is full of dangers far beyond anything I have ever encountered.
I was exploring today taking in the sights of this strange land, when suddenly I saw a massive ball of fire come screaming down from the sky! It came to an abrupt stop just before crash landing off in the distance, and out from that ball legs and arms unfurled. It was a Rook! But from what I could tell, more massive than any I had ever seen, maybe even bigger than the Dragon Rook. It clearly locked eyes on me and started barreling straight for me, bounding across gaps in the roofs like they were nothing. I started to run. It kept coming, it shot beams of light in my direction, a few barely missed me and I could feel the heat from them, I would be done for if they had made contact.
I got to the edge of the roof and looked down to see a forest. The trees were thick and I hoped it would make for good cover from this Rook that was chasing me. I took a deep breath and jumped, my mount crashed into the treetops, but luckily took only superficial damage. I've put myself in the thick of the trees and heard the Rook fly over head clearly going past.
I'm barely alive. I'm uninjured and so is my mount, but I know today could have gone a lot differently. I'm going to have to tred a lot more carefully in the coming days in order to avoid this kind of issue in the future.
